Dakota Fanning and Rachelle LeFevre, who play Jane and Victoria in New Moon, were seen hanging out together out and about in Vancouver. Rachelle’s little sis came along for the trip, and they ended up at the cast party over at Blue Water Cafe. Rachelle’s hair is looking gorgeous!

Alex Meraz, who plays the badboy wolf Paul in New Moon, reveals that a fan took his role a bit too seriously, giving him a hard time for the character he is playing–
“Someone started yelling at me because they didn’t like my character,” Meraz told us last night at a Carrera Vintage Sunglasses party at the Chateau Marmont hotel.
“I play a bad boy, so she got mad at me,” he added. “She said, ‘I hate you, Paul!’ That was the craziest thing for me—being confused for a character.”
Meraz’s response to the hater?…
“I yelled back at her, ‘I love you, too!’” he said.
He also revealed that he doesn’t think he can compare to Robert Pattinson in the sex symbol category (I beg to differ!)–
“I’m happy to have just a smidgen of what he’s got…I’m not worried about being a sex symbol.”

Alex Meraz, a fellow wolf pack member in New Moon with Taylor Lautner, reveals that the two put their background in martial arts to good use–in their free time, the duo perform martial arts together!
Meraz, who plays a volatile member of the wolf pack named Paul, tells us he and fellow furry friend Taylor Lautner often pass the time between shooting doing martial arts, including karate and backflips.
“The wolf pack is like brothers,” squealed Meraz, eagerly.
The crew is currently shooting in Vancouver, and Meraz says it is going “great.” He adds that the sequel, in his humble estimation, will definitely be superior to the original.
“It gets bigger, better and more exciting,” gushed Meraz.

Last night we caught wind of a big shindig going down at Blue Water Cafe with much of the cast of New Moon via these tweets by LaineyGossip. I was going to wait for some pics to pop up to post this, but I haven’t seen any yet so here are the messages from last night to whet your appetite for later.

Twilight fan Malicious Mandy has a great trip report from Montepulciano, where she tries to gather some intel on the filming locations and such before New Moon begins filming in Montepulciano, Italy later this month.
Obviously the Piazza Grande will be used. That will be the busy square that Bella runs through just as the clock (conveniently on the tower) strikes noon. There are two alleys on either side of the main building, and both are fairly atmospheric, but I’m not convinced that they’ll be the ones used in the film. [....] The other building that they are supposedly using (none of this is confirmed, I’m just going on Montepulciano’s tourism board), is the Palazzo Selimbini. It’s about a ten minute walk straight downhill from the Piazza Grande.

In coordination with the release of New Moon this fall, there will be a brand new trove ofTwilight bookstuff to get your hands on–including a set of four handsome Twilight journals based on the covers of the four books, as well as a new special edition of Breaking Dawn. EW says–
“The Breaking Dawn Special Edition, on stands Aug. 4, will include a DVD of the Breaking Dawn concert series and interviews with Meyer. Those who pick up the hardcover book can also expect a poster and reproduction of handwritten lyrics for “My Never,” by Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld. The Twilight Journals (pictured), out Oct. 13, are packaged in a tin and include “decorative quotes” from each book. For those hoping to buy books tied into New Moon, Little, Brown will release New Moon: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion on Oct. 6 and New Moon trade and mass-market paperback tie-ins in September and November, respectively. They will also publish a New Moon Collector’s Edition on Oct. 6.”
NMM.org reader Michael sends in his experience and a great video from the set of Bella’s house yesterday, where most everything on the outside looks to be packed up, indicating that they’ve finished what they needed to film at the location for now–
The vehicles and bikes that were on the lot 2 days ago, are now gone. I’m guessing the house shots are done now, but they’re keeping it up just in case they need reshoots…and probably for Eclipse as well.
